Position Title: Senior Quality Material Engineer
Work Location/Term: Riyadh, KSA / Full-time
Supervision: Design review and Supervision, Sitemanagement
In Absence Replaced By: Senior Project Manager / Quality Material Engineer
Reports to: Construction Director

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of all materials delivered to the construction site, ensuring they meet the project’s specifications, quality standards, and client requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to verify material quality, adherence to delivery schedules, and compliance with specified standards and project timelines.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control plan for materials, including testing procedures, inspection protocols, and documentation processes.
  • Ensure that all materials used in the project comply with relevant international and local standards, including those specified in the project contract.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of material inspections, test results, certifications, and quality control measures, ensuring all documentation is readily available for audits and client review.
  • Coordinate with the construction team to address any issues related to material quality, proposing corrective actions and ensuring that only approved materials are used in the project.
  • Lead the development of material quality assurance procedures to be implemented by contractors and ensure that these procedures are strictly followed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all material-related quality issues, liaising with the project team, contractors, and suppliers to resolve any non-conformances swiftly and effectively.

Job requirements

Competency Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Senior Quality Material Engineer in large-scale infrastructure or construction projects.
  • Hands-on experience with material inspection, quality assurance processes, and adherence to international standards within the context of international PMC contracts.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, their properties, testing methods, and quality control measures.
  • Familiarity with local and international standards and regulations related to material quality and construction.
  • Proficiency in relevant quality management software and tools.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Language Skills: English is mandatory.
  • Professional Experience: 15 years of experience in quality control and material engineering; Minimum 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Other Skills:
    • Excellent communication skills (listening, verbal & written).
    • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to ensuring the highest quality of materials used in the project.
    • Systematic thinker with good organizational and time management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing material-related issues.
